BRICs - Master Files

This website introduces the concept of "Master Files". Master files are spreadsheets that storegeneral information about a Business, divided by topic.

We will introduce you to two that are common below. 1) Accounting Master File 2) IT Master file.

Many of you may initially feel storing information in files such as this is a security concern. It's no more a security concern than everything else you do online and if you don't store this somewhere onine , you will lose a lot of time regularly. Learning to balance your thoughts on security with your computer use, will be easy for some and hard for others.

Other Master Files that can be created are for things like "Paint Colors" if you have custom paint in your home or if you do paint remodeling work. Another might be related to different trades as you learn about them (Plumbing, HVAC, Electric, Carpentry Master Files) Etc..

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR COPYING / DOWNLOADING / INITAL FUTZING:

Select "File > Make a Copy" if you want it in your google Drive.
Select "File > Save As" if you want to download it in another format. It may or may not work out of the box in the other formats.

BEST PRACTICES FOR LEARNING ABOUT AND USING THIS "SOFTWARE APPLCIATION" AND THIS TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY:

It's best to be working on a computer with a minimum of two monitors attached, or one large monitor that is big enough to view a minimum of two screens at one time. Alternatively have two computes side by side.

Put this Website up on one monitor. Put your newly downloaded application (spreadsheet) in the other monitor.

Skim or read all the information on this web page first then go back and start opening the applications. Without skimming everything first you may be stuck thinking about things that are explained easily a bit later on. There is no ideal order for written presentation. What's best for each is individualized and it's impossible to put it in the right order for everyone.
